Dear Liberty Families,

Our students have been doing a great job! It has been wonderful to see them settling into their routines, building friendships, and working hard in their classrooms and special area classes.

Highlights from Around Liberty

Physical Education with Mrs. Steele:  Students have been learning routines and expectations in the gym while also practicing how to use gym equipment safely and properly.

Music with Mrs. Hott:  Students have been enjoying song storytelling activities, using music to build creativity, listening skills, and engagement.

Classroom Learning

Our students have been hard at work and are already making great progress!

Kindergarten
Kindergarten students have been building their number sense by learning to identify, recognize, and write numbers. They are practicing these skills through hands-on activities, games, and classroom lessons that help create a strong foundation for future math learning.

First Grade
First graders have been expanding their reading skills by learning new "red words" and practicing how to recognize them automatically while reading and writing. During lab time, students have also been exploring a variety of classroom and home tools, learning their purposes, and discovering how to use them safely and responsibly.

Second Grade
Second grade students have been reviewing and strengthening their addition and subtraction skills through mystery math. 

It has been exciting to see our students engaged in learning, asking thoughtful questions, and working together as they continue to grow academically each day.

Character Trait Focus

This week, we continued conversations about character traits, with a special focus on respect. During morning announcements and in classrooms, students discussed ways to show respect every day, including:

• Using an appropriate tone of voice
• Helping others
• Being a good listener when someone is speaking
• Waiting their turn and not interrupting others

We are proud of the way our students are learning what it means to be respectful members of our school community.

Looking Ahead

Please remember that there is no school next Monday or Tuesday. We look forward to welcoming students back on Wednesday.

Wednesday is Spirit Day! 

Be sure to wear your Liberty or Lakota gear to show your school spirit!

Picture Day is 9/16/26! 

Important Birthday Reminder

To help keep all of our students safe and healthy, we will not be allowing edible birthday treats in classrooms due to student allergies and dietary concerns.

If you would like to send something in to celebrate your child's birthday, please ensure that it is non-edible. Some ideas include:

• Stickers
• Pencils
• Bookmarks
• Small erasers
• Other school-appropriate trinkets

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we work to create a safe environment for all students.

Spirit Day Wednesday!

Show your Liberty pride by wearing your Liberty gear each Wednesday. We can't wait to see our students and staff dressed in their school colors!

Complete Final Forms

If you have not already done so, please complete your child's Final Forms as soon as possible. Keeping student information current helps ensure a smooth and successful start to the school year. We have 92.8% completed thus far.  We appreciate your help in getting us to 100% completion!
