Principal's Weekly News

Principal's Weekly News

We welcome the start of December today, it is hard to believe that we are only 12 short days away from the end of the first semester of school.  The winter weather has arrived too!  Please make sure that your student is appropriately dressed for winter weather.  We will continue to go outside.  Also, this is a good time to drop by Liberty and check out the lost and found, things are starting to accumulate.  We will be cleaning it up and anything that is unclaimed at the end of December will be bagged up and donated to Reach Out Lakota.  Please encourage your child to look there and also in their classrooms if you are missing something.

In January we will begin a new incentive program with our students called Liberty Loot.  It will be a Liberty money system where students will earn money for demonstrating respectful, responsible, problem solving and safe behaviors.  They will save their money and at the end of the month get an opportunity to buy from the Liberty store where items will range from $1 to $25 dollars or maybe even more.  We are asking for your help with supplying things for the store. If you are out doing any shopping and you find a great bargain on something you think would be a good purchase for our Leopards with their Loot and you are willing to donate it to our store, we’d love to have it.  Some ideas would be Pokemon cards, trinkets, cool markers, pens, squishmellows, stuffed animals.  We appreciate your support.  We will be rolling this program out to the whole school starting in January.  We do have a few classrooms that have started piloting it for us before we start with everyone.  I look forward to having our Leopards shop!

We have started our MAP testing this week.  Math and Reading Growth will be before our holiday break and then in January we will take the MAP fluency assessment.  Please check your child’s classroom newsletter for more information specific to your child’s testing day.

Have a great weekend.
